Daily schedule
Our daily schedule offers time for children to participate in both group activities and independent child choice activities.
Morning drop off with physical activity:
9:00 a.m.
We start our day in the garden where the children can release some energy, riding bikes, scooters, playing on the slide and lots of other activities, this is weather dependant, on wet days we will start inside. You will greeted by our manager or deputy manager.
Child choice time:
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
A variety of developmentally appropriate activities that encourage learning in all areas of development, as well as a adult led facilitated activity.
Clean up time
10:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
All children work together to clean up our hall/garden.
Story time:
10:15 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
The manager/deputy reads a story to the children relative to the current curriculum.
Snack time:
10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Our setting has a complete nut free policy. Children begin snack with hand washing and participate in preparing and choosing their own fruit. Snacks is a selection of seasonal fruits we get from the local Sunnyside farm shop. Water and milk (incudes dairy free) is provided with the snack.
Butterfly activities:
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The children seperate into butterflies and caterpillars. The butterflies take part in structured learning through play for school readiness.
Lunch:
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Lunch begins with hand washing then the children find their lunch boxes and sit at the table with their friends. Staff sit at a table with the children, this is a social opportunity.
We promote healthy eating, please can you only pack one sweet treat in your child’s packed lunch, thank you.
Physical activity:
1:00 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Children participate in active play, this could be using the PE equipment, parachute making dens.
Woodland:
The children have time to play in the wood promoting self-esteem creativity and building confidence and independence while taking part in lots of different activities. The natural world is a playground for curiosity.
Goodbye:
3:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Each parent will be greeted at the end of the day by their child’s key person, this is an opportunity to talk about their day and anything else you would like to share.
